Home Price Increase

Home prices have gone up for nine straight months last year, finally slowing in November when interest rates peaked at 8% based on the Freddie Mac 30 year fixed rate mortgage average, reports Diana Olick @DIANAOLICKCNBC. Detroit reported the highest increase during that period of 8.2% with our own home town San Diego ranking second at 8% out of the 20 cities. This can pose a problem for first time home buyers needing to have a down payment for the FHA 3% requirement on a $900,000 single family residence median home price. There are solutions to make it possible to get on the board with down payment assistance programs.
